Troubleshooting: Electrical Issues with Control Box

πŸ“Έ Before You Start – Documentation is Key

  • Always record a video of the issue before contacting support.

    • Show the remote control on the correct channel.

    • Show the control box indicator lights.

    • Show the accessory response (or lack of response).

  • For LED Light Kit issues, also provide a photo of the LED Y-cable (to confirm which version you have).

  • Videos and photos are required to file warranty claims with the manufacturer.

πŸ”Œ Initial Checks

  • When powered on, all LEDs on the control box should light up.

  • If nothing lights up, check the power source and connections first.

  • To test if the outlet has power, try plugging in a cell phone charger.

Common Control Box Problems & Fixes

1. Control Box Appears Dead (No Lights / No Power)

Causes:

  • Power cord not properly matched, plugged in, or wired correctly.

  • Damaged connector or wiring sequence issue.

  • Internal damage to the control box.

Solutions:

  • Check the cord is aligned, secure, and undamaged.

  • Replace the power cable (try one from a heater box if available).

  • Test outlet with another device.

  • If no LEDs turn on β†’ Replace control box.

  • Indicator tip:

    • Only red LEDs β†’ defective box.

    • 1 blue + 3 green β†’ working box.

2. Breaker Keeps Tripping

Causes:

  • Defective power cable.

  • Incorrect wiring sequence.

  • Fuse amperage too small or overloaded household circuit.

  • Too many accessories connected.

Solutions:

  • Record a video of the breaker tripping (required for claims).

  • Inspect the power cable for cuts or exposed wires.

  • If available, swap with a heater cable.

  • Disconnect yellow ground wire and retest (ensure it doesn’t touch anything).

  • If still tripping β†’ Replace control box.

  • ⚠️ Note: Breaker tripping may indicate household circuit issues. Consult an electrician if multiple devices are connected.

3. All Control Box LEDs Blinking Continuously

Cause: Short circuit or wiring error.

Solutions:

  • Check connections (LEDs, motor, heater).

  • Ensure screws didn’t pierce a cable during assembly.

  • Replace power cable.

  • Replace control box if issue persists.

4. Only Blue Indicator Flashing

Cause: Short circuit.

Solutions:

  • Check connections carefully.

  • If LEDs attached β†’ Follow LED troubleshooting (below).

  • If no accessories attached β†’ Replace power cable.

  • Replace control box if issue persists.

5. Indicators Blink Then Turn Off When Controlling LEDs (S3 Only)

  • Unplug all accessories.

  • Remove Y-cable and connect LED strip directly.

  • If direct connection works β†’ Replace Y-cable.

  • If issue remains β†’ Replace control box.

6. LEDs Turn On Immediately (Not Remote Controlled)

Causes: Control box issue, wiring error, or internal short.

Solutions:

  • Test one LED strip at a time on both Y-cable sides.

  • Record video showing remote attempts and control box flicker.

  • If all strips fail β†’ Replace control box.

7. Accessory (Motor, Lights, Heater) Doesn’t Work

  • Ensure proper pairing.

  • Check corresponding control box indicator.

  • Record accessory + control box reaction.

  • If nothing helps β†’ Replace control box.

8. Motor Only Moves One Direction

Causes: Motor damage, water entry, pairing/wiring issue, or control box problem.

Solutions:

  • Test motor with another control box.

  • Check cable connectors are aligned and secure.

  • If confirmed motor issue β†’ Replace motor.

  • Otherwise β†’ Replace control box.

9. Motor Moves Only ~2cm Then Stops

  • Reset control box using blue light indicator.

  • Re-pair remote.

  • If still not working β†’ Contact support.

10. Control Box LEDs Missing (One Function Dead)

  • Likely heater wiring or control box issue.

  • Check heater connector alignment.

  • If fine β†’ Replace control box.

πŸ’‘ LED-Specific Issues

  • LEDs Cannot Dim or Turn Off/On β†’ Check wiring β†’ Change remote battery β†’ Replace remote β†’ Replace LED strips.

  • LEDs Cannot Change Color (RGB) β†’ Replace remote β†’ If still faulty, replace LED strip.

  • LEDs Don’t Show Red β†’ Replace LED strips (RGB strip defect).

  • Control Box LED Flashing Blue Only β†’ Wiring issue or damaged box β†’ Check wiring β†’ Replace control box.
